2. Couples Therapy

Intimate relationships are an opportunity for great love, enrichment of our lives and true partnership. The challenges we face in modern-day society and the lack of training we receive outside of our families of origin often equate to great difficulties within some of our most important relationships. I love relational work because we have an opportunity to create deeply meaningful, loving and supporting relationships. We need to have the tools in order to accomplish this goal and Imago Relationship Therapy teaches these tools.

We often enter into couples counseling during periods of pain, sometimes hopelessness and sometimes in preparation for change when not in crisis. Regardless of the reason for seeking couples therapy, it can be scary and is vulnerable to open up something so personal to someone you don't know. I want to commend you for taking the time to explore and expand your relationship. This work has the power to be significantly impactful on your relationship, on yourself as well as those around you.
In our sessions I aim to create a place where you and your partner feel comfortable, where we work together to identify patterns of conflict and disconnection and shift that dance towards growth, repair and connection. Conflict is a normal part of intimate relationships and my hope is to support you in creating a rich and loving relationship that has the tools and insight to move through the tough spots and back towards loving connection.

In relationship we bring forth our armor that we’ve unconsciously created over time to protect ourselves from past hurt. This armor that has helped us historically often tends to lead us towards problematic stuck patterns and shuts us off from the thing we desire most. In your work with me I aim to help you uncover these patterns, highlight your true desires and support changing dynamics from wounding and unconscious protection towards safe, healthy and fulfilling connection.
Couples work is great work, it has the potential to help you grow into an even greater version of yourself. In doing this, you can show up differently in your other relationships and free up your energy to engage in the world differently and have an even greater positive impact. When we work to create better relationships and heal ourselves, there is a ripple effect that impacts those closest to you and beyond.
